How Long Does a Custom Ring Take? The Real Timeline

The most common timeline question we get comes with a deadline attached: a proposal date, an anniversary, a trip. So here's the plain answer up front — a custom ring at PEGAFFI takes about three weeks from your first message to delivery, and the biggest variable isn't our workshop. It's how quickly you approve the design.
Stage 1: Your idea (day 0)
You send us a sketch, a photo, a link, or just a sentence — "oval, east-west, thin band" is enough. This stage takes as long as you need, and costs nothing.
Stage 2: CAD preview (48 hours)
Our designers turn your idea into a photorealistic 3D CAD rendering within 48 hours. You see the exact ring — proportions, prong shape, band width, how the stone sits — before anything is made. Revisions are free and unlimited; most clients approve within one or two rounds. Every revision round adds about a day, which is why quick feedback is the single biggest timeline saver.
Stage 3: Production (7–10 days)
Once you approve the CAD, the ring goes to our bench jewelers in Guangzhou. The sequence: casting the setting in your chosen gold, hand-finishing and polishing, setting the center stone and any accents, final quality control under magnification, and IGI paperwork matching. Seven to ten days covers even complex designs like hidden halos and pavé bands.
Stage 4: Insured delivery (3–5 days)
Finished rings ship insured and trackable — 3–5 business days to the US, UK, EU and most of the world. The full journey, added up:

What can slow things down (and what can't)
- Slows it down: waiting on design approval, major redesigns mid-process, unusual stone shapes we cut to order.
- Doesn't slow it down: engraving, accent stones, non-standard ring sizes — these live inside the normal production window.
